Big Ron Paul Rick Perry Debate Tonight

Watch Ron Paul destroy Rick Perry tonight during the live debate. Rick Perry has been avoiding Ron Paul up until this point. Good times... 8 pm ET

From Politico: "FIGHT NIGHT: THE GOP DEBATE -- The 2012 GOP contenders -- including Rick Perry in his 2012 debate debut -- will meet tonight at the Ronald Reagan presidential library in Simi Valley, Calif. Things get underway at 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Central on MSNBC, with Politico Editor-in-Chief John Harris and NBC Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams moderating."

Here is an MSNBC Poll asking who has the most to gain from tonight's debate...

We will be blogging, posting polls, and commenting during the debate right here so please come back and join in...

Please read this article from MSNBC about tonight's debate.   They don't even mention Ron Paul at all even though he is polling higher than Bachmann...  Here is an excerpts:

"Clearly the story line to watch will be the Perry/Bachmann/Romney trifecta. These three will be looking to make headlines and stand out from the pack. For Bachmann, the coming months will be crucial given her recent drop in poll numbers since Perry’s entrance. For Romney, his goal will be to hit back at some of Perry’s criticisms and present himself as the electable of the group who can appeal to conservative and moderate Republicans. Perry simply has to come in and either strengthen his position or at least escape unscathed to continue his lead in most GOP primary polls."

2:47 pm
Does anyone see anything wrong with this video from MSNBC?  They show all of the candidates but Ron Paul...  Ron Paul has been shattering John Huntsman and Rick Santorum - by at least 5-10 times as many votes - yet MSNBC acts as if those two are more important than Ron Paul.

Here is the MSNBC Live Stream of the debate for tonight:

5:08 pm
It is confirmed Perry will debate. He has been running scared of Ron Paul for a while now, so this is going to be exciting.

Here is another live debate link.

Ron Paul is virtually ignored in this article about the debate tonight even though he has come in 1st or 2nd in all the Straw Polls and has been in the top three of almost every poll.  They are still talking about candidates that aren't even polling 3 percent!

Ron Paul is beating Rick Perry and handily beating Bachmann in this latest poll as of 5:17 pm.

Here is an article talking about how Paul and Perry have already exchanged a few blows.

Ron Paul adviser Jesse Benton goes after Rick Perry's "conservative" record. This is a preview of more to come.

7:51 pm
Watching MSNBC now.  All the candidates are out on the stage.

7:55 pm They just played Ron Paul's Ad on MSNBC right when the debate is about to start!!!

8:01 pm
No closing or opening statements are going to be made...  Perry gets the first question.

8:08 pm
So far Romney and Perry get several back and forths about creating jobs.  Then they brought in Rick Santorum who is hardly polling above 1% on Rasmussen gets to talk about his record.

8:12 pm
So far most of the candidates have been allowed to talk for a minute.  So far Perry, Romney, Santorum, Cain, Huntsman, Bachmann have been called.  Ron Paul is still waiting to speak.

8:17 pm
Ron Paul got a follow up question and did a great job.  He got applause from the audience.  he asked Ron Paul if he would allow the drug companies to regulate themselves.  Ron replied that the drug lobbyists already write the laws.

8:19 pm
John Harris is now asking the questions and showed a Romney clip that malfunctioned.  Romney said he would grant a waiver to all 50 states for Obamacare on Day 1.  But he doesn't realize when he leaves office that can be undone and is only a temporary fix.

8:21 pm
Perry is up again.  They ask him that 1/4 of the people don't have health of insurance.  He mentions the executive order to wipe out Obamacare as if the President is a king and can just legislate away congress by signing executive orders.

8:24 pm
Huntsman keeps kissing up to Romney and Perry.

8:27 pm
Gingrich attacks the commentators and tries to get people to rally around him against the MSNBC commentators.  Gingrich says that they need to stop getting Republicans to fight eachother and that all of the people on the stage are against Obamacare.  But that is a ludicrous request because we need to know the difference between each candidate.

8:31 pm
They just gave Perry his third question skipping Ron Paul who has only had 1 question so far.  Now they are back to Romney and have skipped Ron Paul 2 times.  Ron Paul is the only one who got interrupted before his time expired.

8:36 pm
Ron Paul finally gets a question again.  Minimum wage.  GO RON GO!  He just mentioned Perry's support for Hillarycare!  Perry tried to defend himself.  Perry asked Ron Paul about his letter to Reagan to leave the party.  Ron Paul explained that he was in favor of Reagan, but not in favor of the huge deficits.  Ron did a great job sticking it to Perry.

8:44 pm
Playing a Reagan video.  Cheering Nancy Reagan.

8:47 pm
They congratulate Rick Perry for starting a conversation with his book "Fed Up".  But Ron Paul has been starting this conversation for 30 years.  They are showing absolutely no respect for Dr. Paul.  He is such a statesman and is the only honest man up there.

8:48 pm
Karl Rove and Cheney are mad at Perry for calling our Federal Government a ponzi scheme.  So Perry pretends to distance himself from them saying, "I am not responsible for Karl anymore.

8:49 pm
Romney is getting his 4 formal question.  He has had several rebuttals and follow ups.  He is talking about Social Security and why we need it.

8:50 pm
Perry gets a rebuttal even though he didn't ask for one.

8:51 pm
Hermain Cain awkwardly jumps into the debate.  They let him talk.

8:51 pm
They asked Ron Paul about Rick Perry's forced Gardasil vaccines executive order.  Ron Paul mentioned that the legislature overwhelmingly overturned Rick Perry's executive order.  Rick Perry lied and said it was legislation, it wasn't an executive order.

8:53 pm
They let Bachmann talk after Paul and then let Perry talk about the Gardasil.  It seems they don't want Ron Paul to rebut.

8:56 pm
Who is Rick Santorum?

8:57 pm
Romney now getting his 5 formal question about Gardasil.

8:59 pm
Ron Paul asked about the TSA.  "These TSA agents are abusive".  Government told the pilots they couldn't resist and they couldn't have guns - that contributed to 9-11.  Ron Paul gets cheers.  They are asking Ron Paul about FEMA now.  Ron said we didn't have FEMA back in 1979.  FEMA is broke.  They are in debt.  FEMA encourages people to build in places that are unsafe.  Ron mentioned that our troops should come home and we should spend some of that money here at home.

9:02 pm
Who is John Huntsman?

9:04 pm
Perry getting another question.

9:07 pm
Some guy from Telemundo is asking questions about immigration.

9:08 pm
Romney getting his 6th formal question.

9:13 pm
They are talking about immigration and Ron Paul hasn't spoken in a long time.

9:15 pm
John Huntsman is talking.  Perry, Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, Bachmann, Cain, and Hunstman have all talked about immigration.  Ron Paul better be next!

9:16 pm
Oh good, Ron Paul gets to talk about immigration.  He mentions that we have a big mess and that the drug war is influencing our immigration problem.  He talks about the fence and real ID being turned on the American people.

Commercial break...  Here is the open letter Ron Paul's campaign wrote to expose Rick Perry on his liberal record.

9:22 pm
Romney is asked if he is a member of the Tea Party.  He said is doesn't carry a Tea Party card, but he is for the Tea Party.

9:23 pm
Perry is up and says he wouldn't raise taxes and wants a balanced budget amendment.  Too bad he left Texas is mounds of debt.

9:25 pm
Huntsman is for no pledges.  He says we have lost our confidence when asked if we are safer today.  He says our corps is broken.  He said it is better to bring troops home from Afghanistan.

9:26 pm
Romney, Perry, Bachmann, Huntsman, Huntsman twice, and Romney again - lightening round so far.  Perry gets it again.

9:27 pm
Rick Perry is talking about Keynesianism and how it is bad - he is trying to sound like Ron Paul.

9:30 pm
Now Bachmann is up again.  She went longer than her 30 seconds and they didn't interrupt her like they do when Ron Paul is up.

9:32 pm
Santorum is saying Huntsman and Ron Paul are for isolationism.

9:35 pm
Ron Paul still has not gotten a question in a while.  They just asked Perry a question again about Climate Change.

9:37 pm
This is Bachmann's 3rd question - Ron Paul has gotten none during the lightening round.

9:41 pm
Romney is getting his 3rd question during the lightening round - Ron Paul has still not been asked anything.

9:43 pm
Rick Perry is getting his fourth question in the lightening round - Ron Paul none.  And they ask Rick Perry about his applause again.  What a sham!

9:44 pm
Cain is up - finally.  Still no Ron Paul questions during the lightening round.

Break away:  This article was on Drudge under the title "PAUL:  PERRY NOT REALLY CONSERVATIVE"

9:46 pm
Ron Paul was asked a question finally - about mandates and the compassion of liberty.  Very good answer and got an applause.
Watch Ron Paul's responses tonight:

We have looked on MSNBC and the other common polling locations where they have polls after the debate. This is the first time in modern history of the internet where a cable news channel did not have an online poll and direct their audience to vote in it.  The reason, I suspect, is because Ron Paul wins all of them by a landslide like the Fox News Debate.

MSNBC finally posts a poll, or we finally found one...  Here is the link. Ron Paul is killing all of them, but the graph shows that Ron Paul is tied with Romney and Perry.  Here is the poll is as of 10:59 pm:

Ron Paul 35.6% with 2,485 votes
Mitt Romney 23.6% with 1,643 votes
Rick Perry 19.5% with 1,360 votes
John Huntsman 9.3% with 648 votes
and the others are lower and not worth retyping.  Here is the screenshot for evidence as we know they will probably pull the link or try to change the poll later.

As of 11:13 am on 8 September, the day after the debate:
Ron Paul is winning this poll with over 50.4% of the vote with 68,813 votes.  Romney only has 17.1%  of the vote with only 23,365 votes - which is less than half of Ron Paul.  Yet the graph is pictorially inaccurate because it implies that Romney has 2/3's of Paul numbers.

11:36 on 8 Sep
Please go to this MSNBC poll and vote for Ron Paul.  He is slightly behind Rick Perry.  It is on the bottom right of the page.

  2. What's with the Drudge Headline? "The Mitt and Rick Show"

    Is he caving?

  3. No, he is just being influenced by the corruption of these two clowns moderating this debate.

  4. Man, did they skip over Paul or what????

  5. He got to go at the end and did great - got applause...

  6. They spent half of the time letting Mitt & Rick talk. Very few question for Ron Paul. What few questions they gave him were on totally inane subjects. They carefully avoided giving Ron Paul any of the questions that he has been know to hit out of the ball park. When it came to health care they asked everyone except Ron Paul. These "moderators" were totally biased in favor of Mitt & Rick and against Ron Paul.

  7. Perry came off as George Bush III. It was creepy.

  8. Yeah I thought the same thing.

  9. With Rick Perry in, I think this is a whole new ballgame, taking votes from some candidates and helping others.

  11. first their tactic was to not give dr. Paul any credit after debates. Now since they recognized that people started noticing it, they changed the tactic. Now they don't even ask him questions for him to respond... what a conniving way to battle him. Why do these fuckers fear honesty and intelligence so much? Isn't that what this country needs now?? Fuck MSNBC and other such fucked up biased channels..
